A group of current Dphil students and MSc in Migration Studies alumni are one of two teams that won a competition to coordinate an Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference sponsored by The Oxford Humanities Division through the Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH).

MSc in Migration Studies alumni and current DPhil candidates at the University, Alejandro Olayo-Méndez and Lena Wettach, were part of a team that won the competition to host their proposed 'Migration, Faith, and Action: Shifting the Discourse' conference.

The conference will held on 8-9 May 2014, and explore two themes:

  • Faith: What discourses do faith traditions provide surrounding migration?
  • Action: What is the role of faith communities and faith-based organisations in the complex landscape of migration?
