About this workshop

The aim of this workshop is to investigate the relation between migration and revolts. Some of the questions that will be addressed include: What is the theoretical link between emigration, immigration and revolts? What have been the short-term and long-term impacts of the uprisings on mobility, migration and displacement in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of patterns and trends and of institutional responses to movements induced by the Arab Uprising? What has been the impact of the Uprisings on broader processes of social change in the region?

This workshop is hosted by The Oxford Migration Studies Society in partnership with the International Migration Institute (IMI), Refugees Study Centre (RSC), the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and the Las Casas Institute

The workshop is part of the Oxford Migration Studies Society Annual Conference, taking place at Queen Elizabeth House, Department of International Development, University of Oxford, on Friday, May 16th 2014, and Kellogg College, University of Oxford, on Saturday, May 17th 2014.
