This third Global Migration Futures workshop involved experts in the fields of demography, migration policy, environmental change, and technological innovation. Experts were invited to present on significant emergent trends and future uncertainties in their respective fields and reflect on their links to migration drivers and patterns.

Discussions centred on the key issues and trends for future international migration identified during discussions at the Cairo workshop. Issues and trends included, but were not limited to, technological advancement and production systems, environmental change, demographic shifts and policy making and public opinion.
