Alejandro Olayo-Méndez is a doctoral student in International Development at the University of Oxford. He is particularly interested in the intersection between humanitarian aid and migration, as well as questions regarding human rights, faith-based humanitarianism, inequality, migration trajectories, meso-level structures, and the so-called 'Migration Industry'. He holds an MSc in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a Master of Divinity (Theology) from Boston College. He has conducted research for Jesuit Service to Migrants and the US Jesuit Conference. Apart from being a researcher, Alejandro is a Jesuit Catholic Priest.
