The International Migration Institute at the University of Oxford hosted the first workshop of the African Perspectives on Human Mobility Programme on 22-24 September 2008. Colleagues attended from the four partner institutions involved in the Programme, as well as IMI team members, and number of researchers from within the University of Oxford with experience of collaborative research projects were invited to join in workshop discussions. The workshop allowed researchers to present and discuss their draft research proposals, with a focus mainly on methodological aspects. A further objective was to establish coherency between the projects and develop an overall conceptual framework for the Programme.
