Marie-Laurence Flahaux

Marie-Laurence is a demographer using mixed methods to investigate the patterns and drivers of African migration. Her research interests include return migration, the effect of migration policies, migration aspirations, and the relationship between family and migration. She completed her doctoral research at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in 2013, was a Research Officer at IMI, University of Oxford (2013-2015), before joining the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), Aix-Marseille University (LPED). She has contributed to the Migration between Africa and Europe (MAFE) project, the Determinants of International Migration (DEMIG) project, and the Family Strategies of migrants in West Africa project.
