Senior Research Officer Robtel Neajai Pailey shares her experience of living as an undocumented migrant in the US for 14 years in a remarkable piece for Al Jazeera

Born in Monrovia, Liberia, she came to  the United States in 1988 on a visitor visa to join her parents and stayed as an undocumented migrant until the age of 20. Robtel Neajai Pailey, in this remarkable Al Jazeera opinion piece discusses her own personal migration journey, which has informed her call for more humane, evidence-based policies towards undocumented migrants.
