In an opinion piece published today in de Volksrant, Marieke van Houte responds to a plan announced this week by Lillianne Ploumen, the Dutch minister for development cooperation and foreign trade, to increase investment in migrant-sending developing countries to encourage people to invest their ambition in their own country rather than migrate.
